Miles Loose Leaf Tea Now being served

Take time out to enjoy a cup of tea from Miles Tea and Coffee based up in Porlock, in Somerset.  Served in our pretty stumpy teapots, we are serving traditional, Darjeeling or Assam loose leaf tea.  Perfect with one of our home made flapjacks, chocolate brownies or a cheese scone, and you can ask for a timer to make sure you get that perfect brew.

'Impressive' Four Cup Rating

We're thrilled to find out that the Cafe has been awarded an impressive 'Four Cup' rating from the Beverage Standards Association for the third year running.

The aims of the Awards are to establish nationally recognised standards for all cafes and restaurants, identify and recognise excellent drinks quality, and encourage best serve standards.  The judging is very stringent, and includes two visits from mystery shoppers!! Cafes are not only judged on the quality and presentation of drinks, but also the ambience, hospitality, service, knowledge of the coffee and other drinks, hygiene and sustainability processes.

To receive the recognition we have is fantastic and a great reward for all of our team here who have worked so hard to maintain our excellent standards.

We are very proud of our achievements this year, with the Taste of the West Gold Award and now this, and we are looking forward to seeing new customers visiting St Thomas to try our coffee!

Cafe Strikes Gold!

We are absolutely thrilled to have won a Taste of the West Gold Award in the Hospitality Category for Cafes and Tea Rooms! We're so proud of our team, and of all of our local suppliers who have made this possible.   Not only that, we're also finalists in the Best South West Cafe and Tearoom - we will find out on the 29th September 2014 if we have won!  If you haven't already visited us, come down to see us in Cowick Street soon to find out what the Taste of the West judges liked about our cafe!

Nominated for the Nat West Venus Awards

We're so thrilled and excited that Sue Taylor has been nominated for a prestigious Nat West Venus Award in the New Media and Online Category.  The judges are currently shortlisting, and the semi finalists will be announed on the 4th September 2014.  The Venus Awards aim to recognise as many women in business as possible and have been running for five years in Devon.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that Sue makes it through to the final!
